Το κομμάτι ειναι ενα αποσπασμα λυρικής ποίησης του Ίβυκου.
Ο Ίβυκος ήταν αρχαίος Έλληνας λυρικός ποιητής από το Ρήγιο της Μεγάλης Ελλάδας. Η ακμή του τοποθετείται στα μέσα του 6ου αιώνα π.Χ., στην εποχή του τυράννου της Σάμου Πολυκράτη, αφού στην αυλή του έζησε πολύ χρόνο.

Ibycus was an ancient Greek lyric poet from Rhegium of Magna Graecia. He appeared for the first time in the middle of 6th century B.C. at the era of tyrant of Samos Polycrates, considering that he lived a lot of time at his court.
